For distributors and retailers · a new circle
Your handoff, on the same record as everyone else’s.
Licensed wholesale distributors and retailers of Vijaya-based products are a new part of the VVF network, being defined with the first members who join — not yet a settled circle.
Applying costs nothing. VVF does not sell cannabis and does not take a cut.
Who this is for
Licensed, not informal — and new.
VVF admits to the supply side only cultivators, manufacturers, distributors/retailers and practitioners who hold the licence their work requires. The Distribution Circle is the newest of these.
- Eligible
- Licensed wholesale distributors and retailers — for example, a licensed bhang shop or an AYUSH-licensed Ayurvedic pharmacy stocking Vijaya-based formulations
- Not eligible
- Unlicensed sellers, or anyone seeking to buy or sell outside a licence
- What is new here
- This circle is not yet on VVF’s published site; its exact rules are still being written with early members

About VVF
Owned by its community. Led by the practitioner, for the patient, the producer and the plant.
Vishva Vijayaa Foundation is a not-for-profit company dedicated to a research-based understanding of cannabis, known in Indian texts as Vijaya.
-
Connect
One network for small manufacturers, doctors and the people they serve.
-
Trace
AI-led traceability for every batch, from the farm to the consumer.
-
Understand
Research that brings Indian knowledge systems and modern science to the same table.
We are rooted in the traditional knowledge and practices of Bharat and apply scientific methods to them. We do not sell cannabis. We build the shared infrastructure that lets a fragmented industry work together and earn trust, with the medical practitioner at its centre.
The practitioner at the centre
Both poison and medicine. The practitioner decides which.
Ayurveda’s texts class Vijaya as an upavisha, a lesser poison: a medicine only when purified and correctly prescribed. Indian drug law takes the same view.
-
Shodhana before use
The classical texts require Vijaya to be purified before it becomes medicine — boiled in a decoction of babbula bark and processed with cow’s milk or ghee to reduce its toxic effects.
-
The person before the plant
The practitioner establishes the patient’s body type, the balance of Vata, Pitta and Kapha, along with their condition and what they need.
-
The right form and measure
Only then is Vijaya prescribed: the preparation, the dose and the duration chosen for that patient, not for patients in general.
-
Follow the patient
The practitioner watches the response and adjusts. What is learned goes back, with consent, into the network’s shared knowledge.
Unsupervised or uneducated use of the plant does not give the desired results.
Cannabis sold illegally is not medicine. It is unpurified, untested and of unknown origin. Where illicit cannabis has been tested, laboratories have found pesticides, heavy metals, moulds and added adulterants, and published Indian research notes that no systematic testing of the illicit supply exists at all. Unsupervised or uneducated use of the plant does not give the desired results.
The network
Circles that need each other, with the practitioner in the middle.
In NEST Networks terms, any group that works under shared rules is a Circle.
The circles, farm to patient
Each hands off to the next in order — a visible chain, not a loose set of members.
-
Farm Circle
Licensed cultivators in a district
Governs: Cultivation practice, harvest batches.
-
Processing Circle
Extraction and processing units
Governs: Handling and extraction records.
-
Lab Circle
Testing laboratories
Governs: Test methods and reports.
-
Manufacturer Circle
Licensed makers of formulations
Governs: Formulation, packaging, labelling.
-
Distribution Circle · new
Licensed wholesale distributors and retailers
Governs: Storage, transport and retail handoff of a licensed product.
-
Practitioner Circle
Doctors of Ayurveda and Western medicine
Governs: Prescribing and observation.
-
Patient community
People who use the products
Governs: Their own data and consent.
Who vouches for whom
Each claim is backed by the authority already competent to vouch for it — a Trust Provider. VVF invents none of these.
-
This farm may cultivate
Vouched for by: The state authority that issued the cultivation licence.
-
This unit may manufacture
Vouched for by: The drug-licensing authority that issued the manufacturing licence.
-
New
This party may distribute or retail
Vouched for by: The authority that issued its wholesale/retail drug licence or state excise (bhang) licence.
-
This test report is valid
Vouched for by: The body that accredited the laboratory.
-
This person may prescribe
Vouched for by: The medical council that holds the practitioner's registration.
-
This party is a network member in good standing
Vouched for by: VVF, under rules set by its members.
The network is a commons. No single manufacturer, clinic, distributor or platform owns it, so every member can rely on it. VVF has no shareholders and pays no dividends; any surplus goes back into the network and its research.
Traceability
From farm to consumer, every step on record.
Each batch has one record. Every step adds evidence to it, anchored on a blockchain ledger that makes it tamper-evident.
-
Farm
Licence, plot, strain, sowing and harvest dates, harvest weight — vouched for by: Cultivation licence.
-
Processing
Batch received, method, input and output weights — vouched for by: Processing licence.
-
Lab
Sample taken, test report for potency and purity — vouched for by: Lab accreditation.
-
Manufacturer
Formulation, product batch number, label and pack — vouched for by: Manufacturing licence.
-
Distributor/Retailer (new)
Batch received and stored, quantities moved, who it was handed to next — vouched for by: Wholesale/retail drug licence or state excise (bhang) licence.
-
Doctor and patient
Prescription reference and dispensing, with consent — vouched for by: Medical registration.
AI reads the record so people do not have to: it organises batch documents and lab reports and flags gaps. It does not make the decision — a person always does.
Where we are
Honestly: a design in progress, not a live system.
This is a design document, not a system that is live today. Members who join now help define the batch record, the handoff protocol and the rules of each circle.
Not settled yet
- How distributed ownership (membership tokens) will be legally structured — still being settled with legal counsel and regulators before any token is issued.
- The exact rollout timeline — the plan is one chain at a time, starting with one farm circle, one lab, one manufacturer and a small group of doctors, with no public date set.
- The Distribution Circle is new — its licensing checks and batch-record fields are still being defined with the first distributors and retailers who join.
- VVF's own call-back number and office hours have not been published; only namaste@thevvf.org is given.
Standards and compliance
What VVF does, and what it does not do.
VVF works with a regulated plant. These are the lines it holds, and that every member is asked to hold.
VVF does
- Admit to the supply side only cultivators, manufacturers, distributors/retailers and practitioners who hold the licence or registration their work requires.
- Publish research and frameworks with their sources and their limits stated.
- Keep a product's record open to the person holding it, and a patient's record private.
- Hold that Vijaya is used only on a qualified practitioner's assessment and prescription.
VVF does not
- Sell, supply or facilitate access to cannabis or cannabis products.
- Promote or endorse any product, brand or member.
- Encourage unsupervised or self-directed use.
- Make therapeutic claims, or offer medical, legal or financial advice.
- Issue or sell tokens as an investment.
The law VVF and its members work within
- The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and state NDPS and excise rules.
- The Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and its rules on licensing Ayurvedic medicines.
- The Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954.
- The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
The network is a commons. No single manufacturer, clinic, distributor or platform owns it, so every member can rely on it. VVF has no shareholders and pays no dividends; any surplus goes back into the network and its research.
Plant Intelligence
Intelligence on Earth began with plants.
Our thesis is that the Earth itself is a superintelligence, and that its intelligence arrived in stages. Plants came first.
-
First — Plant Intelligence
The genesis. Plants sense, respond, defend and communicate, and they make the chemistry the rest of life depends on.
-
Then — Animal and Human Intelligence
Sentient beings: our collective knowledge, wisdom and consciousness.
-
Now — Machine Intelligence
Artificial intelligence, the latest entry, built by humans from what they have learned.
VVF aims to integrate Plant Intelligence, Human Intelligence and Machine Intelligence.
-
Plant
The natural intelligence embedded in plants, with Vijaya as our starting point.
-
Human
Classical texts, the practitioner's judgement and clinical observation.
-
Machine
AI to process data and find patterns; blockchain for transparency, security and control of information.
